Middletown Real Estate

Middletown derives its name from being in the heart of San Diego. Occupying the space between Old Town San Diego and Little Italy, Middletown combines tastes of those two with the commercial district of nearby Morena.

Middletown is easily accessible by public transportation and in fact has its own San Diego Trolley station. It's a quick trip via trolley or bus to the business district of downtown, or can even be traversed on foot.

Downtown is where the action of San Diego is. Here, you'll find the best bars clustered around the Gaslamp Quarter, a historic district that has renovated itself to incorporate great restaurants and entertainment venues. Downtown is also the home of San Diego's Petco Park, home of the Padres and the National League's newest structure. This has sparked an upgrade and an expansion of downtown unlike anything the city has ever seen.

Middletown also borders Old Town, the historical center of San Diego. This is where you'll find the best Mexican restaurants, with homemade tortillas and margaritas—a real treat. Kids can take tours and understand what it was like to live in Southern California before electricity, television and air conditioning.

Middletown has started to develop some of its own culture, as well. Around Middletown you'll be able to find neighborhood bars where businesspeople cluster for after work happy hours, as well as coffee shops that feature live music on occasion. We particularly like Gelato Vero on India Street.

Middletown's real estate consists mostly of apartments and condominiums that are ideal for residents who work downtown. Many of the condominiums were built in the 1990s and are in excellent condition.
