Carlsbad Real Estate

Carlsbad is unofficially divided into two areas: old and new. Old Carlsbad is full of old Victorian buildings that are both used as private residences and tiny bed and breakfasts. These are houses that border the beach and the boardwalk, and are near to the antique shops and restaurants that bring visitors in from all over. The homes of Old Carlsbad are, on the whole, large, with spacious lots and great front and back yards. These houses rarely go on the market; with so little beachfront property still available in Southern California they are valuable pieces of real estate.

The newer parts of Carlsbad are clustered in the South and East. Here, master planned communities and executive homes draw in individuals and families who want to live in safe, isolated neighborhoods. South Carlsbad's trademark community is Aviara, while East Carlsbad's is La Costa, where the famous tennis match is held annually.

But these communities are just two of many. Carlsbad has plenty of room to expand, and is doing just that. In fact, it has become such a popular place to both live and do business that Palomar Airport, which once served just private jets, is now open to small commuter aircraft. This expansion of the airport has led to an expansion in business opportunity as well, as high tech and biomedical companies build up here.

Regardless of where in Carlsbad residents opt to make their homes, they share a commitment to the style of living that the community typifies. Carlsbad's flower displays are famous all over Southern California, and the three lagoons and ocean, which surround Carlsbad, gives the community a unique feel.

Parents know that their kids are safe in some of the best public schools in the state, including La Costa Canyon High School, a new and great facility.

Home prices range between under $400,000 to almost $3 million. The average home sold for $672,183 in February 2006. Real estate in Carlsbad is only increasing in value, so you're sure to capitalize on your investment.
